Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Matatu mobile game, website, and related services provided by Airdady we. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who May Use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by your local law, to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission.
You represent that you can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.

2. Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account through Google Login. Creating an account via Google is mandatory.
As part of the account creation process, you will also be required to provide your phone number, which must be accurate and kept up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities carried out under your account.

3. Virtual Coins, Rewards & In‑App Purchases

The Service offers in‑app purchases, including virtual coins and rewards ("Virtual Items"). Purchases may be made via mobile money or other available payment methods provided by our payment partners.
Virtual Items have no real‑world monetary value, are non‑redeemable, non‑transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any legal tender.
All purchases are final and non‑refundable to the fullest extent permitted by law. We may, at our discretion, correct billing errors or provide refunds as required by applicable law.
Prices are displayed in the app and may change at any time. You are responsible for any taxes, carrier fees, or charges imposed by your provider.

4. Halal‑Aligned Use

We strive to ensure the Service aligns with halal principles. Without limitation:

No gambling: gameplay does not allow staking real money or converting Virtual Items into money or prizes of monetary value.
No interest (riba) mechanics: in‑game economies avoid interest‑bearing loans or similar instruments.
Fairness and transparency: rules of play are disclosed, and chances of success are not manipulated to induce spending unfairly.

Note: Cultural and religious standards vary. If you believe any feature conflicts with halal values, please contact us so we can review.

5. Payments via Mobile Money

When you purchase Virtual Items using mobile money, you authorize our payment partners to charge your mobile wallet for the displayed amount, including any applicable taxes and fees.
Mobile money transactions are processed by third‑party providers. We do not control their systems and are not responsible for outages or delays.
You must ensure your mobile wallet has sufficient funds. Failed payments may limit access to purchased content.

6. User Conduct

Follow the game rules and play fairly. No cheating, exploiting bugs, botting, or reverse engineering.
Do not harass, bully, or offend other users. Do not post illegal, hateful, or infringing content.
Do not use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate others' rights.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including game assets, code, artwork, and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law.
We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non‑commercial entertainment.

8. User Content

Some features may allow you to share content (e.g., profile names or chat). You retain your rights to your content.
You grant us a worldwide, royalty‑free license to use, host, reproduce, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service.
Do not upload content you do not own or have permission to use.

9. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, harm the Service or other users, or if required by law.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Some data may remain as required for legal or operational purposes.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non‑infringement, and uninterrupted availability to the extent permitted by law.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a revised "Last updated" date.
Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Airdady we collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Matatu game and related services. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act (2019) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Profile: username, avatar, country/region, and any details you choose to provide.
Device & Usage: IP address, device identifiers, OS and app version, language, crash reports, diagnostics, and engagement data (e.g., level progression, session length).
Purchase & Payment: transaction amount, time, and status for in‑app purchases via mobile money or other methods. We do not store your mobile wallet PIN; payments are processed by third‑party providers.
Support: details you provide when you contact us.
Cookies & Similar Technologies: used to remember preferences and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your device settings where applicable.

1.1 Account Deletion

You may request the deletion of your account at any time by contacting our support team. or accession our deletion link direct from the app
Upon deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal information, except where retention is required by law (e.g., transaction records for accounting or legal compliance).
Please note that some data, such as aggregated analytics or information already shared with other users, may remain in anonymized form.

2. How We Use Information

Provide, operate, and improve the Service and gameplay balance.
Process in‑app purchases and deliver Virtual Items.
Enforce game rules, prevent fraud and cheating, and ensure halal‑aligned use (e.g., no gambling mechanics).
Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support.
Personalize features, events, and non‑intrusive promotions in the app.
Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

3. Legal Bases (if applicable)

Contract: to provide the Service and deliver purchases.
Legitimate Interests: to secure and improve the Service, combat fraud, and analyze performance.
Consent: for optional features like push notifications or analytics when required by law. You can withdraw consent at any time in settings.
Legal Obligation: to comply with accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.

4. How We Share Information

Service Providers: hosting, analytics, customer support, and content moderation partners under confidentiality agreements.
Payment Processors: mobile money and other providers to complete your transactions.
Legal & Safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service.
Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal data.

5. International Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we implement safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or rely on adequate legal mechanisms.

We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes above and as required by law. We may anonymize and retain data for analytics.

Where processing is based on consent, withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by your local law). If you believe we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information. No security is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third‑Party Links & Features

The Service may link to third‑party sites or include SDKs (e.g., analytics, crash reporting). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may be highlighted in‑app.

Matatu Game Rules

Matatu is a popular East African card shedding game similar to Uno or Crazy Eights. The goal is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards by matching the suit or rank of the previous card played.

🎯 Objective

Be the first player to play all your cards. When you have only one card left, you must say "Matatu!" or you'll be penalized.

🎮 Basic Gameplay

Players take turns clockwise
On your turn, play a card that matches either the suit or rank of the top discard pile card
If you cannot play, draw one card from the stock pile
If you still cannot play after drawing, your turn ends
When you have one card left, announce "Matatu!" before your next turn

        💡 Pro Tip: Always pay attention to special card effects and plan your moves strategically!
      

⚡ Special Cards & Effects

8 (Eight): Next player skips their turn
2 (Two): Next player draws 2 cards and loses their turn (unless they play another 2)
Jack (11): Changes the suit to any suit you choose (announce the new suit)
King (13): Reverses the direction of play (clockwise ↔ counterclockwise)
Ace (15): Suit selection card - allows you to choose the next suit
Queen of Spades (12S): Next player draws 5 cards and loses their turn

🎯 Ace (15) Special Rules - Suit Selection

Primary Function: Only the Ace (15) can trigger suit selection
Penalty Neutralization: Ace of Spades (15S) can neutralize active penalties
Last Card Exception: If Ace (15) is your last card, no suit selection occurs - game ends immediately
Priority System: When Ace of Spades (15S) is played during active penalty, it neutralizes penalty first, then allows suit selection if no penalty exists

          Examples:

          • 15H played, no penalty: Player selects new suit

          • 15S played, penalty active: Penalty neutralized, no suit selection

          • 15D played as last card: Game ends, no suit selection

🔄 Stacking Rules

Twos can stack: If a 2 is played, the next player can play another 2 to pass the penalty to the following player
The penalty accumulates (2+2=4 cards, 2+2+2=6 cards, etc.)
Player who cannot stack must draw all accumulated cards
Queen of Spades stacking: Some variations allow Queen of Spades to stack with 2s

📢 "Matatu!" Declaration

When you have exactly one card left, you must say "Matatu!" before the next player starts their turn
If you forget to say "Matatu!" and another player notices, you must draw 2 penalty cards
You can still win on your next turn if you can play your last card legally

🏆 Winning & Scoring

Instant Win: First player to legally play all their cards wins the round
Points System (Optional): Players who still have cards score penalty points based on remaining cards:
Number cards (2-10): Face value
Face cards (J, Q, K): 10 points each
Ace: 1 point
Play multiple rounds - lowest total score wins the game

❌ Common Penalties

Illegal play: Draw 2 cards and lose your turn
Forgetting "Matatu!": Draw 2 cards when caught
Playing out of turn: Draw 1 card
False "Matatu!" call: Draw 2 cards (if you have more than 1 card)

Auto-validation: Illegal moves are prevented automatically
Hint system: Get suggestions for valid plays
Quick play: Fast-paced games with shorter timers
Tournaments: Compete in structured competitions
Statistics: Track your wins, losses, and improvement over time
